Man Ray
Les Larmes or The Glass Tears, created in 1932 by Man Ray. When looking at this cropped picture, one could think about where the lady is staring at. Is what she staring at the reason for those glass-like tears. I really enjoy Man Ray's use of direction that can be seen by the upward look of the eyes. The peice was created after a breakup with his assistant and lover as an att3mpt yo "break her up." This makes the piece even more interesting due to it possibly being a portrayal of what he would like her to look like after the break-up. Even more interesting is that the lady is just a very realistic mannequin, creating something that looks so realistic yet both the lady and tears are fake.
