Ralph Gibson

At first, I was a little surprised when looking into some of Ralph Gibson's work. There are some photographs that some would dream to be inappropriate. Though they have some explicit content, I still can admire the skills used to capture the images. The images are clear and obviously thought out when they were being taken. All of his images seem to have a similar feel to them. I am not sure if it would be called a dream-like feel but it has a feeling of something that isn't quite reality to it.

For example this photograph of his. I am unable to say for sure if it is an image of someone drawing a realistic beach setting or just someone holding a pen up against an actual beach setting. That kinda unsureness is something I like and can easily be captivated by when looking at it. His work all has a kinda surreal feeling to them when I look at them. Some might say his nude work is inappropriate but it still has the same feel as all of his other work.
